Abstract

As healthcare moves towards personalized, holistic medicine, orthodontists must broaden their skills, embrace interdisciplinary knowledge, refine diagnostics, and strengthen ties with other medical specialties. This special issue aims to inspire orthodontists to adopt comprehensive healthcare strategies. The insights challenge us to rethink traditional “in-house” boundaries, recognize our role in systemic overall health, and fully engage as vital members of the medical community. Continuous professional development and evidence-based research are crucial for these expanding responsibilities. By staying informed about cutting-edge research, using emerging technologies, establishing interdisciplinary working teams, and adapting to new clinical practices, we can continue to provide exceptional patientcentered care
