Pine Cone, directed by Onir, presents a daring and meditative intervention. Drawing on his own life, Onir crafts a semi-autobiographical narrative that forgoes linear storytelling in favor of a fragmented structure spanning three decades of queer love, longing, and loss. The film follows Sid Mehra, a gay filmmaker, as he navigates different phases of his life and intimate relationships, making visible not only the inner life of a queer man but also the shifting social contours of LGBTQ+ identity in urban India.
