Abstract

High peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) is one of the major drawbacks of orthogonal time frequency space (OTFS) based communication systems, leading to deteriorated bit error rate (BER) performance. This letter proposes precoding and postcoding approaches using the Zadoff-Chu sequence to reduce PAPR in OTFS and presents a performance analysis through simulations. The simulation results confirm a significant decrease in PAPR with the proposed approaches compared to other coded OTFS systems, as well as improved BER performance in the presence of a high-power amplifier (HPA) with a specific input backoff.
