Abstract
The velum interpositum (VI) is a membranous extension of the leptomeninges under the hippocampus. In this issue of Neuron, Hohsfield et al.1 characterize cellular properties of the VI in mice and its role as a gateway for myeloid cells infiltrating the brain parenchyma.
