Abstract
The triboelectrostatic separation process is suitable for various industries, including minerals, mining, and cement. In this study, a vertical gravitational electrostatic chamber is designed, and an initial attempt has been made to separate silica particles from five different compositions of raw materials. It was observed in the charge measurement experiment that the magnitude and order of charge increased as the DC voltage increased from 0 to 1000 V. At 0 V, a negative charge was observed for CE-1 sample without tribocharging, at around -5E-8 C, but as the electric field increased, all the measurements observed were positively charged, in the range of 1E-8 to 4E-8 C. In the particle trajectory experiment, the sample CE-2 demonstrated the highest deflection among all the materials.
