Abstract
Benzoic acid hydrogenation faces a persistent activity-selectivity trade-off. Ru/HfB2 overcomes this challenge via strong metal-support interactions that generate electron-rich Ruδ- sites, enabling >99% conversion and selectivity under mild conditions.
