Abstract

Gender-based violence is not only a social and legal problem, but also a significant public health issue that can have devastating consequences for the physical and mental health of its victims. The following is a case of a patient who develops a delusional disorder after years of continued marital abuse. This is not an isolated case, as previous studies have shown that women who suffer gender violence can experience a variety of mental disorders, including depression, anxiety and psychotic disorders.
This case illustrates how prolonged exposure to violence can lead to the breakdown of mental health, resulting in the emergence of delusional symptoms. Understanding this relationship is crucial for developing effective interventions and supporting victims of gender-based violence.
