Abstract
We developed an electroporation-based transformation system for Moniliella megachiliensis, a basidiomycetous yeast producing erythritol. Using a green fluorescence protein expression vector, successful gene transfer and expression were confirmed. This is the first report of genetic transformation in this genus, providing a foundation for future genetic engineering and biotechnological applications in food and fermentation industries.
