[Implementing support for obese people in Guadeloupe].

Abstract

The situation regarding obesity and overweight in Guadeloupe is alarming: statistics show that 52% of adults are affected, more than in mainland France (47%). Primary care teams are integrating this fact into their practices, in terms of screening, care and referral. A multidisciplinary approach is essential to support patients, integrating their commitment and acceptance to follow a specific pathway. A structured outpatient program has been designed by a multi-disciplinary team to provide a local response to needs and to practice "outreach".
