Abstract
Steel fiber-reinforced mortar (SFRM) has demonstrated its effectiveness as a strengthening solution for existing structures with low tensile strength, owing to its high compressive and tensile capacities compared to existing masonry. Masonry walls can be strengthened by applying SFRM layers on both faces, resulting in symmetrical load-resisting elements. However, practical constraints may necessitate strengthening only one side of the panel.
