Abstract

Low fertility is a growing concern in the UAE, yet theory-based research on fertility intentions is scarce. This qualitative study examines beliefs shaping fertility decisions among 29 Emirati postgraduate social work students. Findings highlight the influence of religion, culture, economics, and gender and stress the vital role of social workers in informing policies that reflect youth realities. These insights also enrich global understanding of how professional and sociocultural factors affect fertility in modernizing societies.
