In this review, we comprehensively introduce the selection and study of DNA and RNA aptamers for tobramycin and summarize recent advances in biosensors, such as electrochemical sensors, colorimetric sensors, and fluorescence sensors, for tobramycin using aptamers as recognition elements. We elucidate the fundamental principles of these aptamer-based biosensors and their applications in tobramycin detection and the advantages and pitfalls of different types of aptamer-based biosensors. Abstract

The widespread application of tobramycin has caused significant environmental issues and health risks in recent years. Currently, the simple, rapid, sensitive and selective detection of tobramycin is in high demand. Since the emergence of aptamers against tobramycin, aptamer-based biosensors have exhibited great potential for tobramycin detection. In this review, we comprehensively introduce the selection and study of DNA and RNA aptamers for tobramycin and summarize recent advances in biosensors, such as electrochemical sensors, colorimetric sensors, and fluorescence sensors, for tobramycin using aptamers as recognition elements.
