Abstract

The Associate-Infection Prevention and Control (a-IPC) certification was developed to provide an entry-level credential for infection preventionists and those pursuing careers in IPC. To evaluate its impact, an electronic survey was distributed to 591 a-IPC certificants, yielding 103 respondents (17.4% response rate). The survey explored motivations for obtaining certification, funding sources, perceived benefits, and suggestions for improvement. Survey findings highlight the a-IPC certification value as an entry-level credential for individuals beginning their IPC careers.
