In this work, a sensitivity analysis is performed to investigate different modeling approaches (plate or solid elements) and mesh sizes. The aim is to analyze the effects of load smearing and load distribution in discretized finite element models for supported slabs. The results show that the mesh dependence is significant, especially for high local loads. Depending on the element type and mesh fineness, there is also a clear difference whether the analysis is based on nodal or element mean values.
