Abstract
Innovative behavior (INB) is recognized as a core competence for innovation development. In higher education, Universities worldwide focuses on promoting the core competence in students. The comparison for innovative behavior based on demographic characteristics in this setting is little known for more understanding. The purpose of this study was to examine and compare between demographic characteristics, and INB of undergraduate students in Thailand. A total of 1200 undergraduate students from various type of university were participated in the study and completed the demographic characteristic questionnaire and innovative behavior scale that included opportunity seeking, creating new concepts, thought leadership and the application of ideas. The current study shows that the level of INB among the participants were a moderate in total and had a statistically significant difference (p < .01) of INB for type of university and grade point average (GPA). These findings may be used as the primary data for educators and educational psychologist to develop strategies to enhance undergraduate students’ INB.
