Abstract
Background: This study, conducted in the Wardha district, investigates the connection between obesity and anemia in health sciences students. Both conditions present significant public health challenges and may be linked through mechanisms such as inflammation and iron deficiency.
Methodology: A total of 108 students aged 20 to 30 years with body mass indices (BMI) greater than 30 will participate in the study. Anthropometric measurements, hemoglobin levels, and structured questionnaires covering lifestyle, medical history, and demographics will be collected. Anemia will be defined according to World Health Organization (WHO) guidelines. IBM SPSS Statistics version 21.0 (IBM Corporation 1 New Orchard Road, Armonk, New York, 10504-1722, United States.) will be used for statistical analysis to explore potential associations between obesity and anemia.
Findings: The study will aim to find that both obesity and anemia will be prevalent in this demographic, suggesting a potential link through factors like inflammation, iron deficiency, and dietary habits. These insights could help shape targeted public health interventions to improve the health outcomes of young adults in India.
Conclusion: The findings of this study will provide important insights into the relationship between obesity and anemia, supporting the development of healthcare interventions and public health strategies for young adults in India aimed at improving their health outcomes.
IBM SPSS Statistics version 21.0 (IBM Corporation 1 New Orchard Road, Armonk, New York, 10504-1722, United States.)
