The current investigation sought to assess whether serum vitamin D levels are related to blood pressure within Indian population.</p><p><strong>Methods: </strong>This observational cross-sectional study included 600 participants (300 cases with hypertension and 300 controls). Inclusion criteria were patients aged 20-70 years with hypertension, while individuals with secondary hypertension, chronic kidney disease, or chronic liver disease were excluded. Blood pressure was measured using a mercury sphygmomanometer. Vitamin D levels were analyzed using automated analyzers.</p><p><strong>Results: </strong>A weak but statistically significant negative association between serum vitamin D levels and blood pressure was found.</p><p><strong>Conclusion: </strong>Lower serum vitamin D levels were associated with higher systolic blood pressure.
