Abstract

Toxic Gas Sensors for Firefighters

Toxic gas sensors for the detection of chlorine and phosgene are reported utilizing inkjet printed nematic liquid crystal patterns on reactive substrates. The zero-power sensors are characterized by high sensitivity at relevant ppm and ppb levels, fast response times on the order of seconds, and a design that is highly customizable by the potential end user. More details can be found in article 2400166 by Marianne E. Prévôt, Torsten Hegmann, and co-workers.

Sensor Res. 6/2025)
