Abstract

Plant hormone pathways can be regulated by microbes. In a recent issue of Cell, Zhang et al. demonstrate manipulation of rice strigolactone signaling by root bacteria in field conditions and reveal the molecular mechanism of rhizosphere microbiota that affect rice tillering and yield.
