Abstract

Health promotion and education in nursing are part of a global approach aimed at empowering individuals and communities to take charge of their own health. The former, defined by the 1986 Ottawa Charter, integrates prevention, protection and education. The second, essential in schools and hospitals, improves patients' autonomy and quality of life.
