Abstract
In this article, we propose a new extension of the Lomax distribution using the new T-X family and name it Weighted T-X power Lomax distribution. For this distribution, some statistical properties such as quantile function, moments, and order statistics are derived. In addition, for the proposed model various shapes of density curves and hazard curve were visualized. The estimation of the parameters are done through the method of Maximum Likelihood estimation and also simulation studies are carried out. The applicability of the proposed model was illustrated with real datasets. The efficiency of the model was identified by comparing it to Lomax based distributions.
