Abstract
Psychological resilience signifies the capacity to effectively manage and endure traumas and stressors, enabling individuals to adjust and recuperate despite challenges and hardships. In recent years, researchers have explored the possible effects of psychological resilience on illness and treatment. This descriptive study investigated the effect of preoperative psychological resilience on postoperative pain. The sample consisted of 150 orthopaedic surgical patients. Data were collected using the Brief Resilience Scale (BRS) and the Brief Pain Inventory. The results showed negative correlations between BRS and BRS subscale scores. Our results provide evidence regarding the relationship between resilience and postoperative pain. Healthcare professionals should actively promote the cultivation of resilience among patients during the perioperative period as a means to assist them in effectively managing postoperative pain.
