Abstract
We report on a 31-year-old male patient diagnosed with active moderate-to-severe ulcerative colitis and a history of splenectomy. He was hospitalized due to confluent pustular oral lesions and multiple skin abscesses. After ruling out an infection, we diagnosed pyostomatitis vegetans associated with aseptic abscess syndrome. After multiple unsuccessful treatments (corticosteroids, infliximab, ciclosporin, ustekinumab and colectomy), filgotinib, a JAK 1 inhibitor, was then initiated, resulting in the complete resolution of skin lesions.
