Abstract
This study provides an updated overview of review studies in Hospitality and Tourism (H&T), focusing on recent thematic interests and shifts in methods, topics, and future research. It conducts a systematic Review of Reviews (ROR), selecting review articles published between 2017 and 2023. Following PRISMA guidelines, the study employs bibliometric analysis and thematic mapping across 230 review studies. By integrating current phenomena with historical insights, the study reveals major types of review research, methodological evolutions, and thematic trends in H&T. It identifies five key future research topics and offers suggestions for high-quality review research. The study emphasizes the need for broader, interdisciplinary approaches to capture the multifaceted nature of the H&T sector and advocates for more rigorous, constructive approaches in review research to ensure inclusivity of H&T stakeholders. As one of the few ROR studies in H&T, this research updates the field’s evolutionary landscape and sets guidelines for future research.
