Abstract
Otolaryngologists perform increasingly more in-office procedures and should be familiar with relevant head and neck anatomy as well as local anesthetics and their routes of administration. A combination of topical anesthetic, local infiltration, and nerve blocks can be used to provide a comfortable experience for the patient. The surgeon is responsible for ensuring a safe environment in which the procedures are performed as well as managing any acute complications that arise.
