Abstract
We investigate the effect of organic ligands in iron-based metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) on the oxygen evolution reaction (OER) electrocatalysis. The OER activities of the iron-based MOFs are considerably higher than those of conventional inorganic iron oxides, as the organic ligands favorably modify the former's electronic orbitals for the OER.
