Abstract
Friction Stir Welding
In article number 2400767, Sanjay Raj, Ayan Bhowmik, and co-workers explore the friction stir welding of dissimilar high-strength materials, Inconel 600 and SS316L, with a focus on the influence of the weld nugget zone microstructure on mechanical and corrosion properties, using advanced microscopy techniques. Findings highlight the improvements in mechanical strength and corrosion resistance, attributed to the formation of fine-grained, recrystallized structures and the distribution of carbide precipitates.
