Abstract
An improved stereoselective and regioselective ring-opening polymerization enables the formation of completely alternating poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid) (PLGA), as reported by Guangqiang Xu, Qinggang Wang et al. in their Communcation (e202417075). This breakthrough PLGA exhibits a record-high melting temperature (143.1°C), forms a stereocomplex (211.8°C) and demonstrates linear hydrolytic degradation with controlled drug release behavior, positioning it as an ideal carrier for long-acting therapeutic delivery.
