Abstract
This special issue of Studies in Applied Mathematics commemorates the 75th anniversary of the publication of the highly influential 1949 “GALCIT” report by Lagerstrom, Cole, and Trilling, a work which helped usher in the modern era of compressible flow studies. Herein, a collection of papers highlighting recent advances in the treatment of topics/problems relating to both lossless and dissipative compressible flow phenomena is presented.
期刊介绍:
Studies in Applied Mathematics explores the interplay between mathematics and the applied disciplines. It publishes papers that advance the understanding of physical processes, or develop new mathematical techniques applicable to physical and real-world problems. Its main themes include (but are not limited to) nonlinear phenomena, mathematical modeling, integrable systems, asymptotic analysis, inverse problems, numerical analysis, dynamical systems, scientific computing and applications to areas such as fluid mechanics, mathematical biology, and optics.
