Light oxygenated compounds in these complex aqueous effluents are condensed over water-resistant Sn-Ti mixed oxides into hydrocarbons and aromatics under moderate process conditions. These catalysts show a robust rutile phase with hydrophobic characteristics and optimized acid properties, based on Lewis acid sites.
