Abstract

With the rapid advancement of autonomous aerial vehicle (AAV) technology, AAVs have brought new possibilities to edge computing (EC), offering enhanced flexibility, mobility, and scalability for computational tasks at the network edge. The issues of data credibility and device selfishness in the offloading process have not been adequately addressed by existing research. Motivated by this, we derive the computation model of AAV-assisted edge computing (UEC) offloading system based on a reputation incentive mechanism and propose an edge computation offloading algorithm for UEC systems that incorporates a reputation incentive mechanism (ECORI). Numerical results indicate that the proposed algorithm significantly improves resource utilization and task completion success rate by suppressing and filtering the reputation values of unreliable devices.

The IEEE Communications Letters publishes short papers in a rapid publication cycle on advances in the state-of-the-art of communication over different media and channels including wire, underground, waveguide, optical fiber, and storage channels. Both theoretical contributions (including new techniques, concepts, and analyses) and practical contributions (including system experiments and prototypes, and new applications) are encouraged. This journal focuses on the physical layer and the link layer of communication systems.
