Abstract

This work studies the persistence scheduling strategy to achieve the statistical latency requirement of ultra-reliable and low latency communication (URLLC) in the finite blocklength regime. The statistical latency model is established by using the stochastic network calculus (SNC) theory. The formulas calculating the upper and lower bounds of the resources required by URLLC users in the persistent scheduling framework are derived. The formula describing the tradeoff between the reliability and latency performance requirements given the allocated resources is also derived. Numerical results verify the correctness of the proposed formulas.
