Abstract
The primary squamous cell cancer of the pancreas is an extremely rare neoplasm that represents 1% of pancreatic tumors. Within the hypotheses of its possible origin, squamous metaplasia produced by chronic inflammation is one of the most accepted. The case of a 45-year-old female patient who consulted for digestive intolerance and weight loss of 10 kilos is presented. Studies were carried out that confirmed a tumor in the head of the pancreas that compressed the second portion of the duodenum. It was decided to perform cephalic pancreaticoduodenectomy with the discovery and confirmation by pathological anatomy of a primary squamous cell carcinoma of the pancreas. This particularly atypical case is important when considering other histological variants in a pathology with increasing incidence such as pancreatic cancer, with the aim of being able to investigate and develop other therapies.
