The interaction between C1QL1 and BAI3 in cochlea was further confirmed by colocalization and co-immunoprecipitation. <i>via</i> upregulating and downregulating the expression of <i>C1ql1</i>, the factors in the pathway can be detected.</p><p><strong>Results: </strong>C1QL1 protein interacts with BAI3 protein in cochlea. <i>C1ql1</i> overexpression had no effect on auditory phenotype. <i>C1ql1</i> regulates auditory nerve fibers growth <i>via</i> BAI3 and ELMO1-DOCK180-RAC1 integrin. Abstract

Background: Complement C1q Like 1 (C1QL1), a secreted protein, is known to play an important role in synaptic maturation, regulation, and maintenance in central nervous system. C1QL1 is expressed in adult cochlea inner and outer hair cells. However, the mechanism of C1QL1 in cochlea remains unclear.

Objective: This study aims to reveal the mechanism of C1ql1 gene in cochlea, including its target and pathway.

Material and methods: The protein-protein interaction analysis of C1QL1 was conducted with STRING database. The interaction between C1QL1 and BAI3 in cochlea was further confirmed by colocalization and co-immunoprecipitation. via upregulating and downregulating the expression of C1ql1, the factors in the pathway can be detected.
