Abstract

The 2023 Nobel Prize in Chemistry was awarded to Aleksey Yekimov, Professor Louis Brus, and Professor Moungi Bawendi for their pioneering work in the discovery and synthesis of quantum dots (QD). QDs have become a major materials component of modern displays, initially in commercial LCD products starting in 2013 and more recently in a new generation of QD-OLED TVs.
