As transcripts that do not encode proteins, ncRNAs are capable of regulating gene expression at various levels. They influence GCs by modulating key biological processes including proliferation, apoptosis, autophagy, cell cycle progression, steroidogenesis, mitochondrial function, inflammatory responses, and aging. Disruptions in GC development and function can lead to impaired follicular development, consequently contributing to ovarian dysfunctions. Thus, ncRNAs are likely integral to the regulatory mechanisms underlying these pathologies, exhibiting distinct expression patterns in affected individuals.
