Abstract
Australian research on the complications of Mohs micrographic surgery (MMS) is scarce. We reviewed our MMS cases for patient, tumour, and treatment factors, as well as surgical complications and aesthetic dissatisfaction. Our results reaffirm international data showing that MMS in Australia has low complication rates (≤ 2%). Smoking, anticoagulant use, tumour anatomic site, defect size, and repair method may affect the risk of surgical complications, and patient age and sex may influence the risk of aesthetic dissatisfaction.
