From Trauma Informed to Trauma Active

Abstract

The mental health and wellbeing of the nursing workforce is pressing issue for nursing leaders. A multitude of interventions have been developed to address this crisis. Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing is a proven intervention to treat post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety, and depression. It has not been well researched as part of an embedded mental health program for nurses. This article highlights the early promising results of a pilot at this organization that led to significant improvements in the mental health and distress scores for nurses.
