In this work, a hydrophilic antifogging coating consisting of poly (2-acrylamido-2-methylpropanesulfonic acid-<em>co</em>-butyl acrylate-<em>co</em>-dopamine methacrylamide) was constructed, which shows significant anti-fogging performance, notable abrasion resistance and excellent adhesion. The combination of strong interfacial adhesion and hydrophilic/hydrophobic structure is key to this approach, which avoids interfacial failure and swelling-induced wrinkles under typical fogging conditions. The adhesion strength is higher than most commercial glues and high-performance polymer adhesives in the literatures since the catechol groups endows the coating marvelous adhesion to the substrate.
