Lack of significant effect of gut microbiota on weight gain in newly emerged worker honeybee.

We observed no differences in weight gain of adult bees or of their gut tissues across these groups. Further analysis based on nurse/forager cuticular hydrocarbon status and bacterial composition also revealed no significant changes.
