Abstract
In September 1995, the Fourth World Conference on Women in Beijing, China marked a watershed moment for global gender equality. The resulting "Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action" laid out an ambitious agenda to advance women's rights, with reproductive health positioned as a cornerstone of empowerment. For African women, this framework catalyzed unprecedented attention to their bodily autonomy, healthcare access, and socioeconomic dignity. Three decades later, Africa has made measurable strides in reproductive health outcomes, yet challenges persist.
