Abstract
Self-organization, surface tension, and UV absorption and fluorescence spectra of aqueous dilute solutions of phytohormone indole-3-acetic acid (IAA) were studied. A relationship between the rearrangement of the dispersed phase, nonmonotonic change in the surface tension, and fluorescence intensity (λex = 230 nm, λem = 340 nm) occurred with the dilution of the IAA systems and the multidirectional effect on the number of green algae Chlorella vulgaris and the growth of seed roots of wheat Triticum vulgare was established. The most significant effect on the algae is observed in the vicinity of the calculated concentrations of the IAA solutions in which a pronounced change in the size of the dispersed phase, fluorescence intensity, and surface tension of the solutions was found.
