Abstract

Creative strategies are urgently needed to improve guideline directed access to overweight and obesity care worldwide. Digital health innovations capable of safely expanding implementation of overweight and obesity treatments to a larger portion of the global population provide an important avenue to address the obesity epidemic. Digital health interventions should be integrated into existing healthcare systems and designed around the major needs of users (i.e. persons, providers, and healthcare systems). We explore how digital interventions may be tailored to enhance treatment for obesity, at both a personal and systems level, and make overweight and obesity treatments more accessible.
