Abstract

A novel strategy to improve carbon dioxide delivery in solutions for electrocatalytic CO2 reduction is reported by Xue-Peng Zhang, Rui Cao et al. in their Communication (e202500154). By shuttling CO2 with triethanolamine, which can capture CO2 to form zwitterionic alkylcarbonate and release the bound CO2 at catalytic Fe tetraphenylporphyrin sites, the electrocatalytic CO2 reduction activity can be significantly increased.
