Histopathological examination revealed extracellular deposits of homogeneous eosinophilic amorphous material, suggestive of amyloidosis. The diagnosis was confirmed through histochemical examination with Congo red stain. Abstract

Amyloidosis is a debilitating disease with systemic or local manifestation characterized by progressive extracellular deposition of insoluble proteins that can affect multiple organs. A 72-year-old male patient, with a history of hyperthyroidism, dysphagia, and weight loss, was referred by the physician due to edema and erythema on the tongue.
