Abstract
This study describes the rehabilitation of 2 patients, one with mandibular odontogenic myxoma and the other with epithelial-myoepithelial carcinoma (EMC) of the salivary gland. The first patient faced complications in speech, eating, and aesthetics after a mandibular resection performed in 2012. The second underwent chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatment in 2021 and began oral rehabilitation in 2022. The patients were submitted to clinical and radiographic exams, revealing that both presented loss of Vertical Dimension of Occlusion (VDO). Additionally, the patient with myxoma lost the alveolar ridge due to surgical treatment and the rehabilitation was done by using conventional removable partial dentures (RPD). The patient with EMC had an absence of 11 teeth, and the rehabilitation was done using thermoplastic resin RPD. Both patients are followed up twice a year. This study highlights that treatment with RPD provides a functional and cost-effective option for oral structure injuries.

Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology and Oral Radiology is required reading for anyone in the fields of oral surgery, oral medicine, oral pathology, oral radiology or advanced general practice dentistry. It is the only major dental journal that provides a practical and complete overview of the medical and surgical techniques of dental practice in four areas. Topics covered include such current issues as dental implants, treatment of HIV-infected patients, and evaluation and treatment of TMJ disorders. The official publication for nine societies, the Journal is recommended for initial purchase in the Brandon Hill study, Selected List of Books and Journals for the Small Medical Library.
