Dose-dependent acute hepatitis associated with administration of high dose methotrexate.

Abstract

The association between long-term methotrexate administration and progressive liver disease is well established. The common complications are liver fibrosis and cirrhosis but these changes are not associated with a rise in liver transaminases.1 We report a case of a young girl who developed a dosedependent acute hepatitis following high dose methotrexate (MTX) treatment for osteosarcoma.
