Herein is described how machine learning algorithms were applied for protein yield maximisation as well as for protein engineering and <em>de novo</em> design. Abstract

Cell-free protein synthesis is a platform for streamlined production of macromolecules. Recently, several proteins with pharmaceutical relevance were synthesised and characterised. Off-the-shelf reagents and parallelised experimentation have enabled the exploration of many different conditions for in vitro protein synthesis and engineering. Herein is described how machine learning algorithms were applied for protein yield maximisation as well as for protein engineering and de novo design.
