Abstract
It is imperative to treat contaminated or used water from a production process in order to ensure the continued availability of freshwater resources for current and future generations. This paper investigates the potential for treating process wastewater using two semi-industrial ultrafiltration and reverse osmosis test plants, with the objective of producing a substitute for the fresh water in the refrigeration systems. The success of this process will be assessed based on stable operation, an effective cleaning strategy, and the parameters of yield and plant availability.
