Abstract

Although contact precautions (CP) have proven effective in protecting patients and healthcare providers and preventing the transmission of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) in healthcare facilities, pediatric patients under CP may experience unintended effects, including psychosocial stress and limited access to developmentally appropriate activities. Modifying or discontinuing the routine use of CP based on risk assessment results may enhance their overall benefits.
